One of my favorite places in the world is Austin, TX. Primarily because of the food, but also for the adventures you can go on there. A couple of days ago I woke up my brother at 5 AM to go on a spontaneous road trip to Austin for his birthday. I had made a complete (and loose) itinerary for the day based mainly around food, of course, but also a few non food related stops on the way. Our first stop was one of my favorite places in existence. I HAD to take him to Juan In A Million to try the infamous DON JUAN BURRITO (as seen on Man v Food). It’s basically a sin in my mind to go to Austin and NOT get the Don Juan. So what exactly is the Don Juan, you may ask? THIS is the DON JUAN BURRITO.
A flour tortilla base loaded with a mixture of eggs, bacon, cheese, and potatoes all for around $6 (perfect broke college kid hangover food). This ONE plate easily makes 5 overflowing breakfast tacos, so order it with an extra 4 flour tortillas. Also, smothering it with a bowl of their Queso is a MUST. At one time in my life I could demolish an entire one of these monsters, but since we had a full day of food ahead of us, we decided to split it which left us each with two and a half tacos stuffed with cheesy goodness and full bellies. If you are ever in Austin and have yet to try this feast, you MUST, I repeat MUST stop by and try the Don Juan for yourself.
